Physicians Assistant Beck Joins Victor Health Center Staff

The Victor Health Center and Grinnell Medical Associates announce that Wendi Beck, PA-C, will shift her primary family care practice to the Victor Health Center, effective April 4.

Beck joined the GRMC Medical Staff in 2009 as part of the Grinnell Medical Associates clinic. She graduated from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine with a physician assistant advanced degree. She completed a bachelor’s degree at Simpson College in biology. Beck is a familiar with GRMC, where she worked from January 2005 to April 2007 as a patient care tech in med/surg and nursing technician in ICU. She grew up in Brooklyn and graduated from BGM High School.

“I’m excited to be working in Victor to help area residents. It’s closer to home and I grew up in the Brooklyn area,” explains Beck. “I hope to build long-term relationships with the residents. I plan to work with and support individuals to help achieve their optimal health and wellness.”

The Victor Health Center will be open five days a week. Beck will be in the clinic four days a week. David Cranston, MD, will continue as the rural health clinic director for the Victor clinic and will see patients three mornings a week. Hours for the clinic will be:

Monday: 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Tuesday: 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Wednesday: 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Thursday: 7:30 a.m. to noon
Friday: 7:30 to 4:30 p.m.

“The Victor Health Center has been seeking a mid-level provider and Wendi is the natural fit. She comes from the area and knows many residents plus she’s had the benefit of working with GRMC physicians for the past two years. She’ll be able to step into the Victor clinic with ease,” says Clay Francis, MD, Grinnell Medical Associates physician. “We wish Wendi the best and will continue to collaborate with her as part of the GRMC Medical Staff.”

Beck and Cranston provide the spectrum of family care services at the Victor Health Center including acute and chronic diagnosis and treatments, as well as sports physicals, blood screenings, flu vaccinations, and preventive care services.
