Grinnell Regional Medical Center Donates $2600 to Area High Schools

Grinnell Regional Medical Center’s outreach clinics donated $2,640 in 2013 to area high schools as part of its annual wellness physical program for students at its outreach clinics.

For many years GRMC’s affiliated clinics at Lynnville, Toledo, and Victor have hosted a wellness physical program in which fees collected are donated back to the school of the student’s choice. This year, GRMC consolidated the checks from all the clinics because students may choose to visit any of the three clinics.  Checks will be distributed as:
South Tama Community Schools – $1,000
HLV Schools – $720
Lynnville Sully Schools – $460
BGM Schools – $200
GMG Schools – $140
Grinnell Newberg Schools – $60
Iowa Valley Schools – $40
Marshalltown Schools – $20

GRMC has supported the area schools with the proceeds from wellness physicals, formerly the sports physical program, for many years” explains Sheryl Rutledge, GRMC director for the outreach clinics. “In addition to ensuring the students are healthy, we’re connecting with and talking to our youth about positive, healthy behaviors. Our providers appreciate the opportunity to talk with the students when they are at a wellness exam. ”
